She was born on March 29 1985 in Roswell New Mexico. Gerina is the name given to her. of her. Gerina Stevenson is the daughter of Mexican parents Rita Stevenson (mother) and Alan Stevenson (father). The mother of two is a Mexican by blood but an American nationality. From the time she was little, she's been very keen on playing sports. Gerina started playing golf at the age of she reached the age of 15. Gerina finished her high-school education in Goddard High School. While in highschool, Gerina took home the New Mexico golf state tournament. As well as playing volleyball, she also competed at a state-level. She began attending the University of Texas. As a senior, she won every single tournament that she took part in. While in her university career, she was crowned Conference USA individual champion player of the year and UTEP Female Athletics Player of the Year.
