Julia Fiona Roberts was born in Atlanta on the 28th of October, 1967 as the daughter of Betty Lou Bredemus and Walter Grady Roberts. Julia Fona Roberts is the fourth generation Roberts who reside in Atlanta. Her father was keen interest from a young age in the stage. When he was in school of Emory University in 1952 he was a part of productions at Emory University as well as in other parts of Atlanta. He joined the military in 1953 and, while stationed in Biloxi Mississippi, he was a part of a military production that included Betty Lou Bredemus who was also in the Air force. Eric Anthony was their first born. They got married in the year. Walter attended Tulane University New Orleans Louisiana after leaving the Airforce in the year 1957. In 1960 the family moved to Decatur Georgia where Walter began working at Atlanta's Academy Theater and the Harrington Scenic and Lighting Studio. Walter and Betty Lou began producing a television show for children in Georgia, Decatur called Bum Bum and His Buddies. The production was funded by the couple themselves. They also established an organization that lasted for six years called the Actors and Writers Workshop later in the year. They welcomed in 1965 two more children into their lives: Lelisa Billingsley and Julia Billingsley.
