Katherine Heigl has revealed that she grew up in a bubble of white and how this realization affected how she raised adopted multiracial children. The actress "Firefly Lane", revealed to a reporter that it did not matter how dark her skin color was to her. After meeting her Korean-American adopted sister she realized the difference between how others treated her and her. "I asked my sister, Meg to tell me if she'd been treated in one manner while going out with us parents, and another way when she was out on her own without anyone else. Meg replied "Oh sure! Every all the time!" Heigl told Parents, "That made me realise that I had been so ignorant." Her anger grew, and she decided to make use of her anger to support her two adopted daughters. Heigl, who has been with Josh Kelley for 13 years, have a son, Joshua Bishop Kelley Jr. The couple took in Nancy Leigh (age 12) from South Korea and Adalaide (age 8) and is black, in 2009.
